Life insurance leads for agents: buy them, or run your own campaigns
What you are really buying when you buy a lead
A name and a number. Sometimes a fresh one. Sometimes one that other agents were sold too. The vendor calls it exclusive. Ask them to define the word, and how long it holds.
Then the wrong numbers. You flag them, wait for the credit, dial the next one. That is the job most lead vendors sell: you rent their leads, on their terms, for as long as you keep paying.
The other way is older than lead vendors. Run the ads yourself and the leads are yours. It used to mean learning Meta, building funnels, and burning a fresh ad account or two. Now it means tapping Run.
Buying leads or running your own, side by side
| Buy leads from a vendor | Run your own campaigns (Vital Edge Ads) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who gets the lead | Depends on the vendor. Some sell a lead once. Some resell it, or sell it to several agents. | Only you. It came from your campaign. |
| What you pay | A price per lead, set by the vendor. Filters and exclusivity cost extra. | $499 a month flat, plus ad spend at cost on your own card. We take 0% of it. |
| How fast it starts | Same day. That is the vendor's real advantage. | Campaigns are built in about a minute and settle over the first days. |
| Who runs the ads | The vendor, on accounts you never see. | We do: software checks every campaign daily and a person fixes what it finds, inside our agency ad accounts. Rejected ads and stalled delivery are our problem. |
| Verification | Varies. Ask whether the consumer confirmed the request, and how. | On our web funnels the consumer confirms by SMS code before the lead is released. |
| Delivery | Email, a spreadsheet, a portal. | Your portal and your CRM, in real time, with a text alert if you want one. |
| When you stop | The leads stop. | The leads delivered to you stay in your portal and your CRM. Your clients and your closed deals are yours. |
Lead types the machine runs today
Final expense leads, mortgage protection leads, IUL leads and veteran life insurance leads, all on funnels we own, in your name. Run up to two at once. Early-access types are marked in the dashboard while their cost per lead settles.
Which lead type fits you
| Lead type | Who is on the other end | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Final expense | Seniors up to 79 asking about burial or funeral coverage | Phone-first agents who call within minutes and work a lead for a week |
| Mortgage protection | Homeowners, often recent buyers, covering the payment | Agents selling term and mortgage protection by phone or appointment |
| IUL, truckers, contractors, farmers | Working-age earners with income asking about cash value and retirement | Agents comfortable with a longer, higher-premium sale |
| Veteran Platinum, Diamond, Active Duty, Widows | Veterans, service members and their families | Agents who know the SGLI and VGLI conversation |
How a lead reaches you
- Your ads run in our agency ad accounts.Agency ad accounts at Meta’s highest tier. Your personal Meta account is never connected.
- A funnel we own, with your name on it.The consumer answers a few questions about coverage. The ending page carries your name, your photo and your booking link.
- The consumer confirms. On web funnels, a code by SMS before the lead is released. Meta lead forms skip that step: lighter qualification, usually a lower cost per lead. Where a lead type offers both, you choose when you tap Run.
- Real time to your portal and CRM.The lead lands the moment they submit, while they still remember asking.
- Delivered only to you.The leads delivered to you are yours to work, and they stay in your portal after you cancel. Your clients and your closed deals are yours.
What it costs
$499 a month flat. It never scales with spend.
Ad spend bills your own ads card at cost, and we take 0% of it. No setup fee, no minimum term. On our campaigns the cost per lead has ranged from about $5 to $70, depending on the lead type and how much intent the funnel qualifies for. Your dashboard shows yours every day, with the subscription folded in.
What “exclusive” should mean
- Exclusive: one agent, ever.
- Semi-exclusive: one agent for a while, then resold. Ask how long “a while” is.
- Shared: three to five agents at once. The cheapest, and the reason your phone gets hung up on.
- Aged: days to months old, resold at a discount, dialed before.
On Vital Edge Ads the lead came from your campaign, and it is delivered only to you.
What agents ask us first
How do I get leads as a new life insurance agent?
Buy them per lead to start today, or run your own campaigns and own the source. Buying is faster. Running your own takes a few days to settle, and then every lead from your campaign is delivered only to you.
Are life insurance leads worth buying?
When the commission from the policies you close beats what you paid to reach those people. Divide the price per lead by your contact rate, then by your close rate, and compare that to your average commission. Verified, real-time leads cost more per lead and usually less per conversation, because the person just asked.
Where can I buy exclusive life insurance leads?
From a vendor who will define “exclusive” in writing, with a time limit. Or skip the question. Leads from your campaign are delivered only to you.
Do you sell live transfers?
No, not today. The machine produces real-time web leads and Meta lead-form leads that you call yourself, minutes after they submit.
What if Meta rejects an ad?
Our problem, not yours. We fix rejected creative, resubmit it and watch delivery, so a stalled campaign gets caught and restarted. Your personal Meta account is never connected.
